Chiz, Wife Heart Evangelista Among Early Voters In Sorsogon

SORSOGON Gov. Francis "Chiz" Escudero, the only incumbent provincial chief executive who is running for senator, cast his ballot early Monday morning for the May 9 national elections at the Buhatan Integrated National School in Sorsogon City.
The governor was accompanied by his wife, global brand ambassador and social media celebrity Heart Evangelista-Escudero, who also voted in the same school under Precinct No. 0079A.
The couple joined their province mates in the queue at the polling place as early as 5:45am and were among the first to enter their designated precinct.
Upon arrival, Escudero and his wife, who were clad in both white shirt and dress, proceeded to the election officials for the verification process and got their ballots hidden inside the ballot secrecy folders. They were then led to their designated seats.
The voting was done in seven minutes.
Escudero has been in public service for 24 years, starting as a congressman representing the first district of Sorsogon in 1998. He was reelected for two more terms. He was elected senator for two terms in 2007 and 2013, and then ran and won as Sorsogon governor in 2019.
If elected to the Senate anew, Escudero said he would focus on giving more autonomy to local government units, ensure the judicious and wise utilization of the annual budget, and help transition the pandemic-weary economy to recovery, among others.

On YouTube, KAMI learned that Heart has finally uploaded a new episode for her viral 'Adulting With Chiz' series.

The actress soon pitched in and clarified that while it is true that Chiz only gives an allowance for the "essentials," he also sometimes gives his wife a leeway as well.
"Yes, he does give me allowance. For essentials, like food, especially when I travel with a lot of people ganyan, and gas. Tsaka may konting leeway naman siya, pang-Zara Zara lang ba so happy tayo diyan."

As previously reported by KAMI, Heart Evangelista appeared to be angry when she replied to the comment of a netizen. Earlier, the netizen, on the video uploaded by the actress, wrote a comment saying that the actress is almost acting like crazy because she has no children to attend to. Senate Hopeful Chiz Escudero Votes With Heart Evangelista In Sorsogon
SORSOGON CITY, Philippines – Sorsogon Governor Francis “Chiz” Escudero, who is seeking a Senate comeback, cast his vote at Buhatan Integrated School in Barangay Buhatan, Sorsogon City on Monday morning, May 9.
He was with his wife, actress Heart Evangelista.
Sorsogon province has 542, 245 registered voters.
Escudero, who had served in the Senate from 2007 to 2019, has been faring well in pre-election surveys on senatorial aspirants, consistently landing among the higher spots in the so-called Magic 12.
“Sample ballots are a main cause of conflict during elections,” Escudero said in Filipino.
“Our position on that issue is clear, especially because all our local candidates endorsed the candidacy of Vice President Leni Robredo,” he added. – Rappler.Com
